Background
Alpensoftware is an in-house CAZ Labs brand from Inzell in the Chiemgau region. The website brings together our services for hotels, guesthouses, tourism organisations, municipalities and businesses across the Alpine region: websites, apps, digital wayfinding and information displays, custom software and automation. Its regional focus is part of the offering. A hotel in Chiemgau, a mountain hut in Tyrol and a business in Allgäu should recognise both their everyday tasks and their language.
The challenge
The website needed to connect its Alpine roots with a calm, professional visual identity. It also had to make a broad range of services understandable: what visitors can ask us to build, which processes software can support and how a project begins. Regional text variants needed to be visible from the start and easy to try. The imagery and animation also needed a quieter route to the same content.
Our solution
We created a distinct identity in gentian blue, sky blue, ice white and gold. A mountain lake opens the page, alongside generous serif typography, fine rules and contour lines as a recurring motif. The background video and its still image share the same framing. A signpost in the opening section and flags in the header make six editorial variants visible: standard German, Bavarian, Swabian, Austrian German, Tyrolean and Swiss German. The dialect section lets visitors switch sample sentences for a hotel, a trade business and a mountain hut between these variants. Service sections and examples organise the offering around practical tasks in the region. A finely drawn cable car explains the project process, with its cabin moving from the valley to the summit as visitors scroll.
A special detail
The enquiry starts in the opening section: a visitor describes their idea in one sentence, and that text is carried into the contact form. The regional variants have their own text content; legal information remains in standard German. A saved resource-saving mode prevents the background video from loading and stops motion. The website also respects the system preference for reduced motion. Additional settings adjust text size, contrast, link highlighting and reading mode, keeping the Alpine visual identity usable across different viewing needs.
