Background
it-alien.de is our own landing page for a specific service: websites for pizzerias, trattorias, osterias and other businesses with an Italian culinary or hospitality identity. The name is pronounced like the German word for Italy while also suggesting an alien. A chef from another world introduces the offer. The page addresses business owners and lists a fixed price of 999 euros before VAT. It presents possible visual directions, the proposed website package and ways to contact CAZ Labs.
The challenge
The page combines a deliberately playful presentation with practical orientation. Among the pizza UFO, Italian headings and cinematic references, visitors need to understand the offer: Which style suits my restaurant, what content is included and what happens next? The design selection also needs to reflect the variety within Italian hospitality. A traditional pizzeria, a modern wine bar and an ice-cream parlour each call for a different visual language.
Our solution
The implementation uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Its opening features Gino l’Alieno, complete with chef’s hat, moustache and hand gesture, alongside a pizza UFO above an illustrated village. SVG supplies the characters and landscape; motion, film grain and typography evoke a cinema poster. Twelve directly comparable design previews follow, ranging from a checked-tablecloth trattoria and the cinematic „Cinecittà“ concept to neon signage, a till receipt and a pink sports newspaper. An additional card offers a bespoke direction. Three steps explain the process through choosing, kneading and serving. The package lists a menu, opening hours, directions, contact information and an ordering form for the proposed restaurant website. Enquiries go to CAZ Labs by email or through caz.de.
A special detail
A price button switches between euros and the equivalent in historical Italian lire. A dedicated section connects the landing page with al-dente.ai and its AI Nonna. Font files are hosted locally. Separate layout rules accommodate different screen widths, while CSS also responds to reduced-motion preferences. Frequently asked questions use native disclosure elements. Visible focus outlines support keyboard navigation.
The outcome

Twelve distinct design directions: a traditional trattoria meets Italian cinema in these two examples.
